Something Slimy! Haunted Territories is Back!

Haunted Territories 2012!
You all might have noticed the recent update that was made just today. Yup! That's right, the Haunted Territories is back! This time, Mousevina Von Vermin is out of the throne and is replace by the Swamp Thang mouse. Rumor has it, that he and a few of his followers came from the Living Garden to outrun the kingdom. Ok, so let's get back to this event.

So, we can divide this into three parts:
- Collecting Cheese, Cobwebs, Halloween Candy, and Halloween Theme!
1.) This is actually the easiest part of the whole event. Ghoulgonzola and Candy Corn cheese, you can collect by equipping normal cheese (Brie, Gouda, SB|+, etc.) to catch Hollowhead mouse that drops the cheese, using SB|+ attracts more, but I don't recommend it. If you want more stronger mice to come to your trap, you should equip the Spooky Charm.
2.) For Cobwebs, this is kinda rare, because the Cobweb mouse, even though it's easy to catch, is kinda hard to attract, but aside from catching Cobweb mouse, you can visit a friend's profile that hasn't been active for a long time and collect Cobweb from there (only five friends for the whole event).
3.) Halloween Candy is also, you can say, essential to this event, this is because a lot of item in the Shoppe are bought using Halloween Candy and some gold. You can collect up to ten Halloween Candy from your friend's profile (don't need to be unused ones). I think you can also get some from mice in the Haunted Territories, but I don't really know for sure. Before the event ends, be sure to trade the candies for something useful.
4.) Halloween Theme is a new thing, also with the other theme selection upgrade. This theme is not usable until you craft it. I'm guessing the first and second part is dropped by the Swamp Thang mouse, while the third part, you can buy it in the General Store in the Haunted Territories. To access and change your theme, go to your profile (click on your Shield on the upper left corner). You should see a Theme button, click it and choose your theme.

- Moving Up in the Haunted Territories!
The areas in the Haunted Territories can be divided into three areas, and I recommend your strongest setup, as because the mice that inhabit the Haunted Territories are mostly effective against all trap power types. Before we start, remember that in the Cornfield Maze, any trap type works all the same, just choose the strongest power (Monster mouse will be missed). For the last two areas (Haunted Manor and Pumpkin Patch), use the ACRONYM, but if you don't have it, just use the strongest trap you have, but you'll miss some Arcane and Shadow type mice (occasionally).
1.) Cornfield Maze, this is the first area that you need to finish, with only 10 mice to trick and treat, you should advance through this area swiftly!
2.) Haunted Manor, the second one is quite a long one, with 20 mice to trick and treat, maybe you need a longer time, but shouldn't be a problem.
3.)  Pumpkin Patch, the last area, with 40 mice to trick and treat. The last ones that you need to catch are the Trick and Treat mouse. But, they shouldn't be a problem, because they can be caught using any power type. After you finished catching Trick and Treat, you can move on to catch the Swamp Thang mouse. After you catch it and get the loot, you will eventually be transported back to the start of the Cornfield Maze, and the cycle goes on.

- New Trap, Skins, and a Whole Lot More!
This time, the Devs. really push themselves to come up with lots of new skins for hunter's traps, aside from the ones that already came out last year, they created 5 new skins (Ice Maiden, Venus Mouse Trap, Steam Laser Mk. III, Bottomless Grave and the Zurreal's Folly) and a new trap (dropped by the Swamp Thang mouse).

I think that covers most of the stuff in the 2012 Haunted Territories to get you all set and ready for hunting. Remember, don't forget to set your profile on which cheese you want to give out this year! Good luck and happy hunting!

Leprechaun!

The Leprechaun (and Other Prize Mouse) are Back!
The Leprechaun mouse, who is absent from the daily hunts since the Prize Power event is out has returned! This time, the Leprechaun is also giving away real cash prizes. However, the catch to catching one of these mouse is that they are only attracted to common cheese now (Marble-Swiss-Brie-Gouda-SB|+). Addition to the common cheese thing, the Leprechaun mouse is really hard to attract and catch! But, if you get one, the prize is really worth it through all of those cheese lost and Failed to Catch(s). So, what are you waiting for? The Leprechaun will be easier to catch only until the 17th of October! (After this date, the Leprechaun and other Prize mice will be harder to catch and attract.

Another thing is that, every time you catch a Leprechaun, you will get a Mystery Pot of Gold that contains your reward for catching the Leprechaun, and with your luck, you might just get a really good prize! Good luck and happy hunting!

The Ancient Gauntlet Hunt!

Treasure Chests!
There is a new content that was released by the devs. a few days ago. The new Treasure Hunt feature is permanent, but there is one thing that is Limited Edition, and that's the Ancient Gauntlet trap that is given randomly through Treasure Chests (If you want to read about the Treasure Hunt, refer to the Treasure Hunting! section of this blog).

The Relic Hunter mouse is also a new mouse that was released together with this event, and the mouse plays a crucial role in this event. More on this mouse in the Treasure Hunting! section too!

Back to the Ancient Gauntlet thing, this trap is a really useful trap if you're going to spend a lot of time in the King's Gauntlet, because this trap if used to catch Tier 1 mice, the mouse you catch will loot double the potions they originally do! So, if you're into Gauntlet hunting, I really recommend you get this trap.

Great Gnawnian Games Final Moments. Bask in the Glory!

Great Gnawnian Games 2012!
This is an entirely new event for Mousehunt. In celebration of the London Olympics 2012, the Devs decided to make this, I guess. Well, this is the final moments of the event, and I'm pretty sure you got the event all figured out. For those who still are asking, here's a quick recap of the whole event: Collect Runny Cheese (about 100 of them), and then head to the Great Gnawnian Games area and start hunting some mice! 100 hunts is a long time though, it would take up to 1 day of hunting. Anyway, to get a King's Medallion, you need to catch at least 80/100 mice, so equip your best trap for the job. Well, I suppose you're all in your 2nd run or hunting elsewhere, so enjoy the last few days of the Games, and don't forget to send your friends a Miniature Torch for their collection! Also, collect some Athlete Charms, these will give you +15 Luck in the Games, and +5 Luck elsewhere, it's worth to get! Happy Hunting!

Bonus Luck Weekend!
In other news, the Bonus Luck Weekend event has started, so make good use of it. You can catch Lucky mice too, but the Meditation Room would be best because if you use common cheese, you would only attract the Hapless, and if you're lucky enough, you might just get an Ultimate Luck Charm from one of the Lucky mouse! Happy Hunting!

After waiting so long for those Hull Fragments to be collected by hunters, now we can travel to it via the S.S Huntington III! So, I hope this helps your hunting! And with the release of the Living Salt mouse, this area well... just gets more interesting. Oh, and don't forget to get your own Limited Edition Icewing Plushie! Happy Hunting! (Also, there has been word that there will be in fact, a new base that will be coming up!. Be sure to check it out!)

New Update on the Slushy Shoreline Business

Iceberg Dead Ahead!
All of you that have been reading the news lately must've known this new upgrade to the Slushy Shorelines that was released a few days ago. So, let's get down to the biggest problem of all, the upgrade to the S.S Huntington II. The ship needs to be upgraded so it can pierce to the big Iceberg that is viewable via the travel map. So, all hunters need to work together to collect 1,5 million Interlocking Hull Fragments, so we can hunt more mice in the Iceberg. Following this news is a new trap and charm. The Steam Laser Mk. 1 is now able to be purchased in the Trapsmith in the Slushy Shorelines, with a power of 4,200 and 14 luck, forget the Heat Bath! This is your new aim for a Hydro trap, but it doesn't come easy, because you need to hunt down the mice that drops the parts needed to make the trap, the mice are the Saboteur mouse (Heating Oil), the Yeti mouse (Frosty Metal), and the Icebreaker mouse (Wire Spool). After you collect 5 of each material, you can head down and buy the trap for 300,000 gold, cheaper than Heat Bath that needs 1,000,000 gold+. And a new mouse, called the Snow Sniper has also been released.

So, for the new charm, the Softserve charm. The description says that this charm tastes like vanilla, and attracts more of the 3 mice that carries the loot, but more importantly, without the charm you can't even attract the 3 mice. As for the other 2 charms and a whole bunch of Blueprints, they will be unlocked once the upgrade to the ship is finished, I guess. So, that covers all the news, I wish you good luck. Happy Hunting

New Area Released, The Slushy Shoreline!

Slushy Shoreline, "The Castle Has Been Breached!"
So, I'm sure that you have read the news about this particular new area, the good thing is that it's located in Gnawnia, the bad news... it's for the ranks of lord/lady. There are a few requirements to this area, the first important one is the Icebreaker License, you can buy this from the Cartographer in the Harbor, only with this are you eligible to hunt in the Slushy Shorelines. The thing with this area is that, you know that in Gnawnia you only need Brie, but because this is a higher rank area, you need Gouda to be really effective hunting here. The new breed of mice has been released a few days ago in several hunting areas, but they are know located in this area only. Even until now, the mice group hasn't been named yet, and the shoppes aren't available yet, but judging by the news, there will be new charms, and a new trap I suppose.

The most effective trap here are Hydro traps, if you have the Double Diamond Adventure, this is a good place to use it besides the Seasonal Garden. The second best is the Heat Bath, followed by Ancient Spear Gun, and Net Cannon/Harpoon Gun. With a good setup and cheese, your journal should not be that white & red all together. One good thing to collect when this area first showed up are the War Supplies, they contain Super Bries |+ and some King's Credits. But remember, if you're a collector, you would want to save a few, because they won't be coming again (I guess). So, that closes all the stuffs that you need to know about this area, happy hunting! (For the first look on charms, visit the shoppes tab in the Slushy Shorelines)
